FAQ
How to choose the right size tent?
Choose a tent based on the number of people and equipment you want to accommodate. A 2-person tent is comfortable for two, but for more space, consider going up a size.
How do I keep my tent dry in wet weather?
Use a flysheet for extra protection, make sure the tent floor is waterproof and avoid touching the tent walls during rain as this can cause leaks.
What is the difference between 3 season and 4 season tents?
A 3-season tent is designed for spring, summer, and fall, with ventilation for warm weather, while a 4-season tent is designed to withstand snow, wind, and extreme conditions for year-round use.
How do I maintain my tent after a trip?
Clean and dry your tent thoroughly before storing it. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and store it in a cool, dry place to prevent mold and material degradation.
Can I pitch my tent on any type of ground?
For best results, set up on flat, open ground. Use a tarp or groundsheet to protect the bottom of the tent, especially on rocky or wet surfaces.
I bought the Raidlite 1DLX at Eurobike 2025 and have used it for two multi-day bikepacking tours so far.
Advantages:
The short and compact pack size allows variable attachment to the bike.
With its subtle colour and low silhouette, you can spend the night in nature without attracting attention.
As a double-walled tent, it provides good ventilation and there is less risk of the sleeping bag coming into contact with condensation.
With a little practice, it can be set up even in the dark. There are only two tent poles to connect. You can attach the fly to the inner tent in advance so that it stays mostly dry when setting up in the rain.
The inner tent can also be used without the fly.
Disadvantages:
As is typical for a tunnel tent, it is not free-standing. You therefore need a surface that is suitable for pegs or, alternatively, stones, branches or similar objects to which you can attach the tent ropes.
The interior height is not quite enough for me (1.84 m) to sit up.
